Kane Keid and Xowié release new single “Distance”
South African rapper Kane Keid and vocalist Xowié have teamed up again on “Distance”, released on 5 November 2026 through Exodus Entertainment.
Rapper and storyteller Kane Keid and R&B and soul singer Xowié have put out a second song together. The single is called “Distance” and came out on 5 November 2026 through Exodus Entertainment, according to SA Hip Hop Mag.
Xowié shared the news on Instagram, pointing to the reception of their earlier release as the reason for returning to the studio together. She wrote that “some chemistry is worth revisiting.”
The song that started it
The duo first worked together on “Brown Sugar”, which was released in late November 2025. That record leaned on a throwback sound inspired by 1990s soul, with Xowié singing and Kane Keid bringing a melodic style to his storytelling. SA Hip Hop Mag described it as a mix of modern R&B and older soul influences, and said listeners responded warmly to it.
A music video followed and helped the song reach more people. “Brown Sugar” was later included on Xowié’s project ALLO (Deluxe).
With “Distance”, the two are treating that first song as a starting point rather than a one-off. The source does not give details about the sound, lyrics or production of the new single, so there is little to say yet about how it compares with their earlier work.
What each artist is doing now
Both artists have kept releasing music on their own as well. Kane Keid recently put out “Take Time”, a song featuring Sino Msolo and Ficz. He is also preparing his first full-length album, titled SON OF SOiL.
Xowié has continued to grow her body of work with ALLO (Deluxe) and a number of other collaborations.
