Purpose of the Job
In addition to providing duties as a baggage attendant, the individual is responsible for repairing, shelving, and processing library materials when necessary.
Principal Areas of Responsibility
This position is responsible for the physical processing of both new and old library materials.
Labels for the spine are prepared.
• Constructs and repairs books that are pertinent.
• Is responsible for the maintenance of the library’s materials.
• Responsible for working at the baggage counter.
• Performs administrative tasks and labor.
• Contributes to the assembly of furniture and equipment, as well as relocation of said items.
• Takes part in the inventory inspection.
• Performs front-line service to members of the general patronage.
Competencies and Abilities
Managing work, planning and organizing, facility-specific skills, workplace safety, and interpersonal relationships are some of the skills that are required.
Communication, resiliency, learning orientation, accountability, and ethical conduct are some of the aspects that are important.
Requirements That Are Important
A secondary education level that is suitable for the position.
A minimum of three months of relevant experience is also required.
Requirements that are Preferred
Matric (National Qualifications Framework Level 4) or its equivalent.
