De Mthuda drops Confidence with Njelic and Sam Deep

Amapiano producer De Mthuda has released the single Confidence with Njelic and Sam Deep, just over two months after his latest project, Noise.

Amapiano producer and DJ De Mthuda released a new collaborative single, Confidence, on 23 October 2026. He teamed up with Njelic and Sam Deep on the track, which Briefly News described as a mix of soulful, foundational amapiano and a more modern piano sound.

The release follows his project Noise, which came out on 7 August 2026. According to Briefly News, he did not put the music out in one go. Instead, he shared snippets and singles week by week in the build-up to August.

From Vosloorus to a national name

De Mthuda was born Mthuthuzeli Gift Khoza and comes from Vosloorus, a township east of Johannesburg. Briefly News reports that he started making music in 2010, while he was still at high school, and dropped out in Grade 11 to pursue music full-time. He first worked as a dancer and DJ before turning to production and singing. His commercial career began in 2018.

His national breakthrough came in 2019 with Shesha Geza, made with Njelic. The song earned gold certification from RiSA and a Record of the Year nomination at the 26th South African Music Awards.
