Who we are!
For the position of Cook, we are looking for someone to join our team in Midrand.
Using standardized recipes, you will be responsible for performing general cooking duties in this role. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing other preparation and sanitation duties as required. Not only will the individual be responsible for the food-related aspects of the kitchen, but they will also be in charge of managing the purchasing process, implementing new menu ideas, and managing operations in order to ensure that the business remains profitable and efficient.
The Obligations and Responsibilities
The act of taking orders from customers and preparing food according to their preferences
Performs the tasks of preparing and cooking a variety of foods, including meats, fish, vegetables, gravies, cereals, soups, fruits, bakery products, and other options.
Using recipes developed by qualified personnel, prepares and cooks food for individuals who are following special diets.
Assists in the training of employees while they are on the job and provides assistance in directing the work of students, employees, and workers in the food service industry within assignment area
In order to guarantee that all of the items in an order are completed and served at the same time, planning and managing work orders is essential.
Supports the preparation of salads and desserts by providing assistance preparing food by grilling, cooking, and frying it
Informs the supervisor of the food and supplies that are required. Whenever it is required, checks in the food and supplies
The records of food production are maintained.
The kitchen, as well as the kitchen utensils and equipment, are cleaned;
The refrigerator and freezer are secured.
As needed, provides food service.
The highest possible standards of cleanliness and safety are maintained.
Immediately informs the kitchen manager about the quality of the food and the equipment.
When preparing any and all products, our Standardized Recipe Card is called upon.
Work must be able to be done on a shift basis, including on weekends.
Knowledge and Abilities Acquired
Worker who is self-sufficient
A customer-oriented approach is required, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with managers and kitchen staff.
Capacity to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and successfully
Pay close attention to the details and be able to work for extended periods of time while standing without moving.
2 to 4 years of experience in the kitchen, both in terms of cooking and preparing food
Credentials and qualifications
Matric or equivalent qualification.
