25K praises Maglera Doe Boy after release of short film MZANSI

Pretoria rapper 25K has publicly congratulated Maglera Doe Boy on MZANSI, a two-part short film in which Maglera makes his acting debut and 25K features on the soundtrack.

Rapper 25K has publicly saluted Maglera Doe Boy after the release of MZANSI, a short film that marks Maglera’s first step into acting, according to SA Hip Hop Mag.

25K’s message of support

The Pretoria artist posted his congratulations on Instagram. He said he was proud to have contributed to the soundtrack and described his fellow rapper as a brother, writing: “Always love & respect for my brother.” He also urged his followers to catch the film and listen to the song he is part of.

That song is ‘Izinja’, which is also linked to the project as ‘Izinja 2.0’. 25K recorded it with Sir Trill. SA Hip Hop Mag reported that Bigles for Real handled production and Zoocci Coke Dope curated it.

What MZANSI is about

Maglera Doe Boy created the two-part film together with filmmaker Brian O’Haze. It was shot in South Africa and Mozambique and blends hip-hop, fashion, street culture, cultural diversity and a forbidden romance.

The central character is Doe, who comes from Klerksdorp. He sets up a profitable underground business moving goods in and out of countries across Southern Africa, and it grows with the help of his trusted crew. Success brings complications, and an unexpected love story threatens to upset everything he has built.

Besides Maglera, the cast includes 25K, Sir Trill, Young Stunna, Material Don Dada and Ason, along with other performers.

Where to watch

Part 1 came out around 2 and 3 November 2026 and can be watched on Maglera Doe Boy’s YouTube channel. The source does not say when the second part will be released, so viewers will need to keep an eye on the channel for updates.

The two rappers have worked together before. SA Hip Hop Mag noted their earlier joint projects, including the Champion Music series with DJ Sliqe, and described the new song as another chapter in that partnership.

For local music fans, the film is a chance to see familiar names from South African hip-hop in a cinematic setting, with the music and the screen story designed to work together.
