Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of refuse generated at SAAT and SAA premises. The position is responsible for removing waste safely and delivering it to designated landfill sites in compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. In addition to general refuse removal, the role supports the organization’s sustainability objectives by collecting paper and cardboard boxes for recycling. This contributes to maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible workplace while reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill sites.
The incumbent is expected to handle waste collection activities in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that refuse is transported using appropriate procedures and equipment. The role also requires maintaining cleanliness across operational areas, supporting recycling initiatives, and promoting proper waste management practices. Adherence to safety standards, traffic regulations, and organizational policies is essential while transporting refuse and recyclable materials. Effective coordination with relevant departments helps ensure uninterrupted waste removal services and the proper management of recyclable materials. Overall, the position plays an important role in supporting operational efficiency, environmental compliance, workplace hygiene, and the organization’s commitment to sustainable waste management through reliable refuse disposal and recycling services.

Collect refuse and dump it at the landfill site timeously as required.
Collect refuse paper and card boxes for recycling timeously as required.
Be responsible for the general upkeep of the vehicle including licensing, cleanliness and services.
Comply with services relating to accidents / incidents.
Perform all reasonable tasks requests by Supervisor.
