Job Description

Position:  Panel Beater

We are seeking a skilled Panel Beater to join our team, focusing on vehicle body repair and restoration.  In this role, technical expertise assesses damage, perform repairs, and ensure high-quality finishes, contributing significantly to customer satisfaction and vehicle safety.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • School Qualification (Grade 10-12).
  • Certification in automotive body repair or a related field will be an added advantage.
  • 5 years and more experience in panel beating, chassis repairs, and spray painting.
  • Experience with modern vehicle materials, including aluminium and composite panels.
  • Knowledge of automotive painting techniques and processes.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations specific to the automotive repair industry.
  • Proven track record in panel beating or a similar automotive repair role.
  • Demonstrable experience in metalworking, welding, and body repair techniques.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment related to vehicle repair.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with team members and clients.
  • Clear Criminal Record
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Own reliable transport.

Key Responsibilities ( Not totally inclusive):

  • Assess the extent of damage to vehicles and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
  • Carry out repair work on vehicle body panels using various tools and techniques, including metal shaping and welding.
  • Remove and replace damaged panels, ensuring expert craftsmanship and attention to detail.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding and priming, ensuring optimal conditions for a perfect finish.
  • Collaborate with automotive technicians and painters to ensure seamless workflow and quality results.
  • Maintain tools and work areas in a clean and safe condition, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Complete all necessary documentation related to repairs and parts used, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in repair techniques to continuously enhance skills.
