Kefilwe Mabote launches THE APEX CLUB at Kyalami on 14 November

Socialite and businesswoman Kefilwe Mabote is launching THE APEX CLUB, a VVIP hospitality experience at the Kyalami 9 Hour race on 14 November.

Kefilwe Mabote, a socialite and businesswoman known for her fashion and her interest in luxury cars, is moving into the events world with a new motorsport experience at Kyalami. IOL reported that THE APEX CLUB will be held at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on 14 November.

The event will take place during the Kyalami 9 Hour, which is the final race of the season for the South African Endurance Series (SAES). The wider race meeting is expected to draw more than 10,000 people.

A day built around more than racing

THE APEX CLUB comes from Kefi Wheel Torque, Mabote’s own motorsport and lifestyle brand. According to IOL, the brand focuses on car design, performance and the culture around luxury vehicles, and links enthusiasts, trendsetters and well-known brands through events, content and community.

Mabote says the aim is to celebrate the whole atmosphere around racing, not only what happens on the circuit. “Motorsport has always been about more than what happens on the track,” she said.

She has also been hosting smaller, more intimate get-togethers with friends where cars, fashion and good company mix. THE APEX CLUB is a much larger version of that idea.

What guests can expect

About 500 VVIP guests are expected to attend. The hospitality offering is set to include:

  • Premium lounges with a view of the pit lane
  • Live DJs and performances
  • Fashion and culture moments
  • Brand activations
  • Live race coverage on APEX TV

Guests can also take part in interactive activities, including a sim-racing championship, reaction-light challenges and a race predictor. The event starts at 8.00am.

What this means for readers

The date to note is Saturday 14 November, when the Kyalami 9 Hour takes place. THE APEX CLUB is described as an exclusive experience for roughly 500 guests, so it is not an open-to-all event. The IOL report does not say how guests can get access or what it costs. Anyone interested would need to look for details from Mabote or Kefi Wheel Torque directly.

For Mabote, the launch is a chance to bring her love of fast cars and luxury lifestyle events together on a much bigger stage.
