As a Junior Storeman, you will play a key role in supporting our manufacturing operations by ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, control, and distribution of materials. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will help maintain accurate inventory records, uphold high safety standards, and contribute to the smooth flow of materials throughout the business.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12.
- Diploma in Warehouse Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience as a Storeman, Stores Assistant, Warehouse Assistant or similar role.
- Good understanding of stock control, receiving, issuing and basic warehouse procedures.
- Computer literacy and experience with inventory or ERP systems will be an advantage.
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Forklift licence will be advantageous.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and verify incoming stock against purchase orders, delivery notes and invoices.
- Pack, label and store stock in the correct locations according to company procedures.
- Issue stock to authorised staff and ensure all stock movements are recorded accurately.
- Maintain accurate stock records, bin cards and ERP inventory system updates.
- Execute daily cycle counts, monthly stock counts and annual stocktake processes.
- Identify and report stock discrepancies, damages, shortages or slow-moving items.
- Keep the stores area clean, organised and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Operate material-handling (Forklift) equipment safely where required, including pallet jacks.
- Ensure stock control and general stores administration governance compliance.
