Applications are invited to apply for the Handyman vacancy to join a team based at St John’s College. This role reports directly to the Facilities Manager in the Facilities Management Business Unit.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- Technical tertiary qualification would be an advantage
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience
- Technical background, practical training on basic handyman services
- Excellent inter-personal skills
- Have sound knowledge of a maintenance environment
- Previous responsibility and successful performance on comparable FM contracts
- Proven knowledge of contracts
Duties & Responsibilities
- Strong skills in painting and surface preparation – Knowledge of various Painting methods
- Strong practical skills in general carpentry and steel work
- Replace broken tiles according to TAL specifications.
- Possesses basic electrical knowledge, including safe handling of wiring, plugs, and light fittings
- Knowledge of basic plumbing
- Experienced in repairing and replacing door locks and related fittings
- Perform any other related duties incidental to the work described herein
- Skilled in using tools and equipment of the trade.
