Description of the Job

The Dis-Chem Toti Centre is looking for a Frontshop Assistant who will be responsible for maintaining the merchandising standards while also providing support to the customer service at the point of sale in accordance with the policies and procedures of Dis-Chem.

Certain Minimum Prerequisites:

A high school diploma or a senior certificate, as well as 0 to 6 months of experience working in retail

Favorable in that:

Minimum of one year of experience working in the retail industry Certification in Retail Business Management

Description of the Job:

Make certain that complete product lines are always available on the shelves and that they are arranged in an orderly fashion.
In order to ensure that the stock on the shelves has not reached its sell by date, it is important to maintain it.
When it is necessary, replenish the inventory in order to achieve maximum sales.
In accordance with the customer service out of stock list, it is necessary to follow up on all inquiries from customers that are related to out of stock items and to make certain that these inquiries are addressed in a timely manner.

Check that the stock that has been delivered and/or the stock that has been pulled from the storeroom are both stored and packed in the appropriate area.
You are responsible for ensuring that the merchandise displays, labels, and pricing are accurate at all times, and you must report any price variation to management.
Maintain order, cleanliness, and orderliness in the storage area.
Maintain a current knowledge of new product offerings in order to provide effective assistance to customers.

If necessary, assist with replenishing the inventory of goods and supplies in order to guarantee the highest possible sales.
When called upon, provide assistance with back shopping.
With extreme caution, each and every item must be handled in order to avoid any losses.

Be responsible for all transactions, including the receipt, verification, and processing of all payments, including cash, cards, vouchers, coupons, and any other forms of payment that are acceptable.
It is the responsibility of the Frontshop Leader to exchange merchandise for customers and to accept returned goods from customers when they are authorized to do so.
It is necessary to process all loyalty cards, including those belonging to quick partners.
Standard operating procedures should be followed in order to guarantee that cash is placed in the drop safe.
Make sure that a Frontshop Leader and/or Retail Store Assistant has approved and signed off on any and all line voids and price changes.

At all times, make sure that the cash flow is accurate.
Ensure that the rotation of stoke is carried out on a consistent basis and that Dis-Chem’s stock control procedures are adhered to.
It is important to inform management about low stock levels, items that are out of stock, damaged stock, and even stock that has expired.
Contribute to the process of counting stock files and performing general stocktaking.
It is imperative that you promptly identify and report any damaged or expired stock to management.
In the event that it is required, provide assistance with loading and unloading stock.

After the stock has been unpacked, make sure that the boxes are flattened and then transported to the designated area.
The establishment of a professional relationship with customers and the provision of assistance and advice that is friendly, helpful, and courteous to all customers are equally important.
Both compliments and complaints from customers should be reported to management.
The customer turnover rate per hour should be adhered to in accordance with the company benchmark.
Provide assistance in the training of both new and existing members of the team.
Be certain that all items, scripts, and stock that are being shipped out are scanned and paid for.
Cash, checks, vouchers, card slips, line voids, and incomplete dockets should be stored inside the till

Drawer until they are placed in the drop safe.
This includes any daily takings that have been made.
Notify management of any inappropriate or suspicious behavior exhibited by either the staff or the customers.
Housekeeping must be done in accordance with the standards set forth by Dis-Chem.
