MultiChoice and Stained Glass TV tease a dark psychological thriller
MultiChoice Group and Stained Glass TV have confirmed a new dark psychological thriller, but the storyline, cast and release date are still being kept secret.
South African viewers can look forward to a new dark psychological thriller from MultiChoice Group and Stained Glass TV. The two companies announced the project as they begin a new phase in a long-running creative partnership, IOL reported.
The news came on the first day of FAME Week Africa 2026, at a panel where executives from CANAL+, MultiChoice Group and STUDIOCANAL spoke about African storytelling, what they plan to commission and the openings available to producers across the continent.
A “full-circle moment”
MultiChoice’s Nomsa Philiso, the Chief Content Officer for Africa, revealed the project. She called the announcement a “full-circle moment” for the relationship between the broadcaster and the production house. According to IOL, she said the partnership had grown over years of working together and sharing in the success of several memorable productions.
No details about the thriller have been released so far. Nothing has been said about the plot, the people involved or when it might reach screens.
Who is Stained Glass TV?
Stained Glass TV was founded by Kobedi “Pepsi” Pokane and Gugu Zuma-Ncube. The company is known for making stories rooted in South African life that also travel well beyond the country. Its work with MultiChoice includes The Wife, Lingashoni and eHostela, which deal with relationships, family dynamics and social realities.
The company has also built ties with Netflix in recent times, adding to its profile in a television market that is increasingly global.
More local shows on the way
The thriller was not the only local news from MultiChoice that day. Earlier at FAME Week Africa 2026, the group confirmed that Die Kantoor, the South African version of The Office, will return for a second season.
IOL notes that the two announcements suggest further room for local production companies to develop new work and build on shows audiences already enjoy.
What viewers can expect
For now, there is little more to go on than the genre and the names behind the project. Anyone keen to watch will need to wait for MultiChoice and Stained Glass TV to share the storyline, cast and release date. Die Kantoor fans, meanwhile, can look forward to a second season, though the source does not say when it will air.
