Blxckie releases second album YENA with A-Reece and Bas

Durban rapper Blxckie has released YENA, his 15-track second album, five years after his gold-certified debut B4Now.

Blxckie has released his second studio album, YENA, which is now out worldwide through Somnyama Music Entertainment and EMPIRE, SA Hip Hop Mag reported on 30 October 2026.

The 15-track project arrives five years after his gold-certified debut, B4Now. According to the report, it shows the Durban-born artist developing as a rapper, a singer and a musician more broadly.

What the title means

The name YENA ties into Blxckie’s long-standing identity as Somnyama Yena Yedwa. He sits at the centre of the album, using the songs to reflect on his own journey and to show off his delivery and melodic range.

Before the release, he shared the tracklist on Instagram with a note to fans. “Thank you for your patience, i owe you everything,” Blxckie wrote. He closed with a Zulu phrase, “uthando alupheli nanini”, which translates as “love never ends”.

Tracklist and collaborations

The album moves between reflective moments, melodic experiments and high-energy hip-hop. It opens with “mama, it’s all good”. The guest appearances include:

  • A-Reece on “bonkerz”
  • American rapper Bas on “cover me”
  • Nigerian singer L.A.X on “lonely”, which was released before the album
  • Durban artist Usimamane on “dradi”
  • KindlyNxsh on “let em have it”

“brady’s interlude” points to his ongoing work with producer K1llbrady. The other tracks are “take me back”, “mr party”, “uphi?”, “welcome to the function”, “vul’ amehlo (open ur eyes)”, “wala (wa)” and “die tomorrow”.

The cover art shows a lone figure standing in front of a glowing green doorway in the dark. SA Hip Hop Mag described it as an image of someone at the threshold of something new.

Where to listen

YENA is available on all major streaming platforms, so South African listeners can stream it now on whichever service they already use. Fans of Blxckie’s earlier releases, mixtapes and EPs can hear how his sound has developed since B4Now.
