From an airshow at Wonderboom to an R&B tour in Pretoria, here are the weekend events listed for Johannesburg and Pretoria between 30 October and 1 November.

IOL has rounded up a few options for anyone in Gauteng looking for a plan between Friday, 30 October, and Sunday, 1 November. The list covers aviation, fashion, live music and musical theatre.

Airshow and masquerade

The G-Force Festival takes place at Wonderboom Airport in Pretoria on Saturday, 31 October. Gates open at 8am, and flying displays run from 10am to 3pm. Tickets cost R180 for people aged 13 and older, R140 for pensioners and R100 for children aged three to 12. Children under two get in free.

On Sunday, 1 November, Pere House hosts the OFF-WHITE Masquerade, which mixes food, fashion and live music. Chef K is in charge of the food, and Malwandle’s House provides the fashion. The Blk Skies Project and Friends are scheduled to perform.

Live music

On Friday, 30 October, rapper Stogie T teams up with Afro-soul singer Simphiwe Dana at Thirteen, 10 De Beer Street, Braamfontein. Each artist will perform on their own before the two share a set in which they reinterpret songs and talk about the stories behind them. IOL notes that Dana, known for “Zandisile”, has won several South African Music Awards. The venue does not admit anyone younger than 18.

In Pretoria, The Ultimate R&B Experience Tour brings American acts SWV, All-4-One and Brian McKnight to SunBet Arena at Time Square. Shows are on Friday, 30 October, and Saturday, 31 October. Songs mentioned in the report include McKnight’s “Back at One”, All-4-One’s “I Swear” and SWV’s “Weak”. Tickets start at R950 per person.

Mamma Mia! in Fourways

The ABBA-based musical Mamma Mia! is on at Teatro at Montecasino in Fourways. The story is set on a Greek island, where Sophie is about to get married and wants to find out who her father is. She invites three men from her mother’s past to the wedding. The songs include “Dancing Queen”, “Super Trouper” and “The Winner Takes It All”.

The run began on 16 October. Because of demand, producers Showtime Management added an extra week, so the final performance is now on 29 November 2026.

  • Friday: 7.30pm
  • Saturday: 3pm and 7.30pm
  • Sunday: 2pm and 6pm

What this means for you

Prices vary widely, from R100 for a child at the airshow to R950 and up for the R&B tour. It is worth working out a budget before you book. Two events have age limits, so check them if you plan to bring family. Confirm ticket sales and event details with the organisers before you travel.
