AmaZulu Announce Amstel Sleeve Sponsorship Deal

AmaZulu have added brewing company Amstel as a new commercial partner, with the brand to appear on the sleeve of the club's shirt.

AmaZulu FC have confirmed a new sponsorship agreement with multinational brewing company Amstel, according to iDiski Times. The Durban-based club said the brand will be displayed on the sleeve of the AmaZulu shirt.

The deal adds to the commercial partnerships the club has been building, and it is being presented as the start of a new chapter for Usuthu as they work to grow their brand presence.

What the club president said

Club president Sandile Zungu described the announcement as an important moment for AmaZulu, one that went beyond simply welcoming a new partner. He said it was also a time to reflect on what the club stands for and where it wants to go next.

Zungu said the standing that both Amstel and AmaZulu enjoy today has been earned over time. In his words, the partnership gives the club a foundation to grow "with meaning rather than simply visibility". He added: "The strongest partnerships do not ask either side to become something else."

He said the agreement is meant to add value around the team, the supporters and the wider AmaZulu community, building on values that both organisations already have.

Part of a wider push

The announcement comes about a month after AmaZulu revealed a strategic youth development partnership with Spanish LaLiga club Levante UD in September 2026. According to the report, that arrangement shows the club is trying to build relationships that go beyond traditional sponsorship deals.

AmaZulu are now the second Premier Soccer League club to partner with Amstel. Orlando Pirates were the first.

What it means for supporters

For fans, the most visible change will be the Amstel branding on the sleeve of the team’s shirt. The report did not give the financial value of the deal, how long it will run, or when the new branding will first be worn, so supporters will need to wait for further club announcements on those details.

The club’s leadership says the partnership is intended to benefit the team, its supporters and the wider community, although the report did not say what specific programmes or initiatives that might involve.
