Description of the Job
Within the Fidelity Group, there are positions for firefighters to respond to and handle any and all fire-related events.
In order to protect the lives and property of the Fidelity Group’s clients, the primary duties include responding to fire incidents and providing emergency rescue services, providing basic medical care, conducting training and prevention activities, operating and maintaining firefighting apparatus and equipment, and performing any other related work as needed under supervision.
Principal areas of accountability:
(Not entirely inclusive) performs emergency operations and firefighting tasks under the direction, supervision, and mentoring of senior officers and the officer-in-charge by:
Responding to rescues, fires, and other humanitarian emergencies and non-emergencies.
Addressing situations involving dangerous materials rescuing and/or releasing victims and carrying out emergency procedures in accordance with the level of authority treating and resuscitating injured people as well as carrying out emergency procedures under the supervision of higher-level authorities
Using a variety of tools to manage, control, and put out flames
Using both stationary and mobile breathing equipment
following managers’ instructions to perform fire safety tasks in circumstances that could endanger people or property and to have the necessary equipment on hand
Getting ready for emergencies and security tasks while being supervised, mentored, and guided by superiors and responsible officers
As instructed, take part in physical fitness training, simulation exercises, and training drills.
To provide all pertinent staff with training on the principles and techniques required to combat fires
Give advice on both preventative and remedial measures.
To guarantee a safe atmosphere, conduct health and safety checks.
Promote local or national security initiatives for the protection of information, people, institutions, and property by putting the appropriate policies, plans, and tools into practice.
Maintain equipment at a baseline level to guarantee operational readiness.
Vehicle and equipment inspection, cleaning, testing, and maintenance
To keep accurate records of daily incidents, fill out the computerized occurrence log.
Requirements for experience, qualifications, and other skills:
As a minimal educational requirement, Grade 12
IFSAC Certified NFPA 1001 Certification for Firefighter 2
Certification for Firefighter II
At least two years of relevant experience and firefighting training are prerequisites.
A valid driver’s license for an unendorsed vehicle
Experience behind the wheel is beneficial.
Physically and medically fit
Good knowledge of and adherence to fire safety protocols
Understanding of firefighting systems, including extinguishing systems, fire classifications, and fire chemistry
no criminal history.
The ability to respond to emergency events in a timely manner
Skills in customer service, interpersonal communication, and administration are necessary.
Experience and expertise in hazmat
Levels 1 through 3 of EMT certification in First Aid
An entry-level ambulance attendant
Fundamental Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Good knowledge of the Hazmat regulations
solid knowledge of the security industry and how to behave in accordance with the Group and Regulatory Authority’s code of conduct.
solid comprehension of the core concepts pertaining to the use of firefighter instructors in operational roles.
