Bliss Family Festival makes its debut in Franschhoek on 31 October

The inaugural Bliss Family Festival takes place at La Paris Estate in Franschhoek this Saturday, with live music, a food market and activities for all ages.

A new one-day event for parents and children is set to launch in the Winelands this weekend. The first Bliss Family Festival will be held at La Paris Estate in Franschhoek on Saturday, 31 October 2026, IOL reported.

Gates open at 11am and the programme runs until 10pm. It combines live performances, food, creative activities and outdoor entertainment.

Who is performing

Jeremy Loops and Arno Carstens top the bill. The rest of the music programme includes:

  • RAAF
  • Wren Hinds Band
  • Basson Laubscher & The Violent Free Peace
  • The Starlight Band
  • The Saxby Twins

DJ Ricky H will play a set with Jamie Faull on saxophone, and Liezel van der Westhuizen is the master of ceremonies. Music and dancing carry on into the evening.

Russell Scott, managing director of Rusco Experiential, said Bliss was designed to give families a summer-festival feel, with music, food and a pretty outdoor setting, all in a single easy day.

Food, wine and stalls

The Bliss Market brings together a range of food vendors. The ones named so far are How Bao Now (bao), Zuney Wagyu (wagyu), EarthFire Pizza (wood-fired pizza), Gusto Paella (paella) and Gelato Mania (gelato). Wicked Waffle and Urban Eatery are also on the list, and more vendors are expected to be added.

Adults can taste wines from local farms. Pop-up stalls will sell pre-loved items, resort wear and jewellery.

Things for children and teenagers

Younger children can try origami, take part in Draw Your Bliss or visit the Creative Play Lab. There are also lawn games, including giant Jenga. Teenagers get their own space with karaoke and a silent disco.

What your ticket covers

A ticket gives you entry to the music and entertainment, the children’s and teenagers’ activities and parking. Adults also receive a complimentary welcome drink. Food and wine tastings are not listed as part of the ticket.

Bridgette Kruger, head of Private Banking South Africa, said the partnership reflects the view that wealth is about more than money and includes meaningful experiences, time and connection.

IOL’s report does not give ticket prices. Anyone planning to go should check the organisers’ official channels for pricing and availability before heading to Franschhoek.
