Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies require a Motorbike Driver for their KZN – Umhlanga region. You will be responsible for delivering goods to customers in a timely, productive and professional manner while upholding Dis-Chem quality standards.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Valid driver’s license
• Willing and able to work retail hours and/or shifts

Advantageous:

• Previous experience in a similar role

Job Description:Delivery:

• Safely transport products to customer locations in a timely, safe and courteous manner.
• Be willing to learn all the different dispatch functions.
• The correct products must be delivered to the correct customer within the specified time.
• Fridge line deliveries must be prioritized and transported using cooler boxes and cold packs.
• Use the shortest and most efficient route to the customer and back to the Distribution Centre and/ or Store.
• Return back to the store immediately after delivery, so the vehicle can be utilized for a second or third delivery.
• After completion of deliveries, the vehicle must be repacked to prevent boxes from falling and damaging the stock or vehicle.
• Be fully accountable for all damage and losses throughout the delivery process.
• Provide special care when delivering fragile and hazardous products.
• Comply with minimum standards of efficiency and accuracy, in order to meet Dis-Chem requirements.
• Follow delivery / Pickup instructions from management.

Administration:

• All collections/ store returns / inter-branch transfers must be correctly checked, signed for and returned to the receiving area.
• All delivery paperwork must be signed upon delivery.
• Have the correct names, contact details and addresses of customers before leaving on a delivery trip.
• All invoices recorded on the delivery log sheet must be available and correctly recorded.
• All invoices must be signed in the correct manner and report any discrepancies to the relevant manager.
• Always comply with the Dis-Chem vehicles policy.
• Complete and maintain an accurate vehicle logbook.
• Process payments on all transactions via EFT and Cash payment options.

Vehicle Maintenance:

• The vehicle must never be left unattached during the delivery process.
• Responsible for keeping the vehicle clean and washed.
• Inspect vehicles for any defects and safe operational conditions before, during and after trips and report any concern to the manager.
• Report on all accidents and incidents involved as per the road traffic act.
• Be responsible for any traffic fines allocated to the vehicle he/she is driving.

Customer Service:

• Maintain effective and efficient relationships with internal and external customers to improve operating efficiencies.
• Establish long-term customer relationships through providing prompt and courteous service.
• Uphold professional behavior when dealing with customers.
• Report customer complaints, and requests, and give accurate feedback to management.

General:

• Housekeeping must be in accordance to Dis-Chem standards. Make sure that the store is always clean and tidy.
• Adhere to all applicable Dis-Chem policies and standard operating procedures.
• Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.

Essential:

• Be able to drive a manual or automatic vehicle, customer service.

Special conditions of employment:

• Must be willing to be rotated to where needed and must be willing to perform any other function within the department, should the need arise
• Must be in good physical health this includes good eyesight
• South African citizen
• MIE, no criminal record and clear credit rating
• Driver’s license and own reliable transport
