Job Description

TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Network Technician within the IT division at Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

Job Summary
This role involves developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network systems to ensure reliable and efficient business operations. The Network Technician will apply strong technical skills and an analytical mindset to diagnose issues, improve network performance, and support ongoing network development, with the goal of sustaining a stable, high‑functioning infrastructure.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Design and install well-functioning computer networks, connections, and cabling
• Perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network
• Inspect LAN infrastructure and fix minor or major problems/bugs
• Test and configure software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices
• Evaluate network performance and find ways of improvement
• Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their own work
• Do regular data backups to protect the organisation’s information
• Provide technical direction to co-workers on computer and network usage and offer comprehensive advice and instructions
• Perform day-to-day monitoring of network tasks as well as managing helpdesk tickets assigned to network team

Qualifications and Skills

• Matric / Grade 12 
• CompTIA A+
• CompTIA N+
• Mikrotik MTCNA
• Cisco CCNA (advantageous)
• 2 years’ experience in a similar position
• Previous experience working with Linux (advantageous)
• Fortinet firewall knowledge (advantageous)
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies
• Knowledge of VPN and firewall configurations
• Good communication skills
• Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Drivers’ License (Code 08)
• Valid Passport
• Willing to travel
