Job purpose
To provide an efficient cashier service in accordance with municipal financial regulations
Appointment
requirements
Grade 12
Mathematics and/or Accountancy as Grade 12 subjects will be an advantage
At least six months’ relevant working experience in a cashier management environment
Computer literacy
Competency in SAP will be an added advantage
Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost

Primary functions
Undertake cash collection
Process transactions on the cashier system and issue receipts
Cancel incorrect transactions
Reconcile cash received with system figures, investigate shortages and surpluses, and report irregularities
Balance and bank the money received at the end of the day
Conduct general administration
Ensure that municipal financial regulations are met
Ensure that the department’s petty cash requirements are met
Assist with the compilation, updating and distribution of a cash procedures manual
