Job Description

The Consultant is responsible for efficiently and effectively managing a portfolio of funds, ensuring compliance with quality, time and standards. Driving business development initiatives and contributing to the overall profitability of the organisation. This role requires a strong focus on client satisfaction, business retention, and strategic engagement with key stakeholders, including trade unions and employer representatives.

Key Outputs:

Demonstrate business understanding:

  • Gain extensive knowledge of NBC’s products and services to effectively drive revenue growth
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the role of consultant
  • Develop a new business strategy, including a targeted client acquisition list with specific timelines, and
  • submit a progress report each month
  • Meet the annual new business target of increasing membership under administration per annum

Plan and prepare for fund meeting:

  • Prepare for and facilitate Trustee meetings
  • Compile Trustee meeting agenda packs
  • Arrangement and facilitation of pre-meetings with relevant departments

Assist in compiling financial information:

  • Preparation of financial information for Year End i.e. timeous delivery and accuracy of checklist
  • Prepare fund budgets

Co-ordinate Trustee Meeting logistics:

  • Attend Trustee meetings and compile minutes
  • Action queries arising from meetings

Provide service to clients:

  • Co-ordinate service delivery to clients
  • Facilitate communication with clients regarding Trustee Elections, Member communication, Fund Letters and
  • conduct presentations to members/trustees
  • Action Section 14 transfers
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate Trustee training
  • Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and bodies in line with client SLAs and NBC

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in consulting, employee benefits, or financial services
  • Strong understanding of fund administration, employee benefits, and financial regulations
  • Experience in business development, client relationship management, and stakeholder engagement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft O􀆯ice Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • In-depth knowledge of investments relating to the funds

Qualifications:

  • A relevant Diploma or NQF 6 Qualification (further studies are advantageous)
  • FAIS Compliant with RE5 completed
